PARTICIPATING LABS

Oricchio, Elisa

Our research program focuses on integrating cancer genomics analyses with functional studies to gain insights in tumor biology and exploit this information to develop new therapies.

In particular, we have developed two main lines of research in which we are studying:

  • the effects of cancer associated genomic alterations on the tri-dimensional organization of the genome
  • the influence of cancer associated genomic alterations on response and resistance to cancer therapies, and their impact on immune cell activity

Key technologies
  • genomic analyses
  • 3D chromatin structure (Hi-C)
  • genetic and pharmacological screening
  • pre-clinical in vivo models
Key biological questions
  • What is the effect of genomic alterations in cancer development and progression?
  • How can we therapeutically target genomic alterations in cancer cells?
  • Can we develop personalize tools to anticipate response and resistance to anti-cancer therapies?
